Development Manager
The development director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all Pets Alive fundraising programs including major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, monthly giving, grants, special events and capital campaigns.
This is a full-time position with a varied schedule. Occasional weekends, early mornings and evenings may be required for meetings or events. Occasional travel is required. Eligible for hybrid work environment, with a minimum of 2 days onsite weekly.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct donor prospect research and contact potential new donors.
- Research grant opportunities, write proposals and submit reports.
- Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequests.
- Build the monthly giving program.
- Communicate regularly with donors and supporters to maintain ongoing relationships.
- Direct the ongoing annual fund, including mailings and fundraising drives.
- Direct capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives: HVGives, special stories, Giving Tuesday, etc.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events; recruit/manage volunteers, consultants.
- Oversee donor database; ensure supporters are acknowledged in a timely manner.
- Oversee print/electronic materials that support fundraising activities.
- Utilize social media platforms to fundraise for medical needs, shelter supplies, etc.
- As requested by the executive director, represent Pets Alive at regular meetings – Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
- As requested by the ED, appear at community speaking engagements.
- Submit weekly fundraising reports to the ED.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 DOE
