WALDEN SAVINGS BANK APPOINTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES & CHIEF DIVERSITY OFFICER

Irene Buccieri brings 15 years of professional experience and a commitment to inclusivity to the role

MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (9/24/2024) – Walden Savings Bank (WSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Irene Buccieri as Vice President of Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer. With more than 15 years of experience in strategic human resources leadership, Buccieri will play a pivotal role in driving the Bank’s commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

Buccieri brings a wealth of expertise in HR management, with a proven track record of success. Before joining WSB, Buccieri served as the Director of People and Culture at Storm King Art Center and as the Associate Director of Strategic Recruitment at Marist College. Irene will be succeeding Pamela Spieler, who is set to retire at the end of the year. In this role, she oversaw a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment and retention, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, and compensation.

Buccieri is passionate about creating inclusive workplaces and is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. In her previous workplace, she served as Staff-Co-chair and member of the I:DEA Board Staff Task Force to identify challenges and opportunities, benchmark staff, board, and docent demographics, and support the development of the institution’s first I:DEA Plan.

Buccieri holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from Mount Saint Mary College. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Hudson Valley SHRM.
