Michael Thiemann is the Business Advocate for the New York State Department of Labor. He is a New Yorker - born and raised in the Hudson Valley, schooled in the Catskills and NYC, and previously lived in NYC for many years.

He brings broad experience in business, having worked with large multinational corporations and institutions, medium-sized businesses, small family businesses, and even his own sole proprietorship.

He has experience in the private, government, academic, and non-profit sectors.

As the Business Advocate, Michael works to educate and assist businesses that have unresolved issues with NYSDOL processes, assessments, reviews, investigations, audits, licensing, or personnel.

If your issue has become stuck in the normal process, the Business Advocacy Office will take your call or email and help find some resolution, provide education, and make sure your concerns are heard at the NYSDOL.
