About
Access’s mission is to help people live the healthiest and fullest lives possible. While our mission has not changed since we began in 1963, our size and reach has. Access and its provider affiliates: The Guidance Center of Westchester, Inc.; Meaningful NY Initiatives for People with Disabilities, Inc.; and New York Families for Autistic Children, Inc.’s affiliations with Access, increases our financial impact with an operating budget of approximately $160 million, with more than 2,200 staff supporting more than 20,000 people from Long Island, New York City, and throughout the Hudson Valley. Together, our system of services provides support to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health needs, and Children and Families with a range of needs. Our collective programs and services are person-centered and designed with the flexibility to meet each person’s unique needs. We understand our role as partners in the lives of the people we serve and work with them to identify their goals and develop a plan to achieve them. We summarize our worldview in four words: Rewarding Lives, Healthy Communities. We work toward a world in which no one is marginalized because they are different and our communities are richly diverse and welcoming to all. We are committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work. Access: Supports for Living Inc., it’s affiliates, and the Access: Supports for Living Foundation Inc. are fully qualified, tax-deductible, not-for-profit organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
