Blue Star Families empowers military families to thrive through connection, support, and community. Founded in 2009 by military family members, we strengthen communities through programs addressing food security, career development, outdoor wellness, and community building.

With over 390,000 members nationwide, we reach 1.5 million military family members annually. Our annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey informs programming and national policy advocacy.

The NY Tri-State Chapter has over 16,000 military-connected members across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut - and it continues to grow. We serve our members through our Essentials Market food pantry, military spouse career services, outdoor recreation initiatives, and community events. We operate with dedicated local leadership and independent fiscal management while leveraging national strengths—research infrastructure, brand recognition, and operational support under our national 501(c)(3).
