Janell Santana-Sims, MSW, is a community leader, Master Level Social Worker, author, speaker, self-care and life coach, and passionate advocate for mental health and substance use disorder awareness.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Self-Care JS Inc., a nonprofit organization, Janell connects individuals and families with community resources while promoting mental health education, harm reduction, self-care, and recovery. Her organization takes a boots-on-the-ground approach, partnering with community organizations and providing outreach, educational workshops, harm reduction resources, and support to individuals and families in need.

Janell is also the Founder of JS Self-Care LLC, where she provides self-care and life coaching designed to help individuals build resilience, strengthen their well-being, establish healthy boundaries, and create healthier, more balanced lives.

A graduate with a Master of Social Work, Janell combines professional expertise with lived experience to advocate for individuals and families impacted by addiction, mental health challenges, grief, and life transitions. She is the author of The Hard Truths About Self-Care, where she encourages readers to recognize that true self-care requires honesty, accountability, boundaries, and intentional action.

Janell is known for her powerful personal motto:
