OCWA Mission

The Orange County Water Authority ("OCWA") supports the planning of county, municipal and intermunicipal water projects, and assists municipalities with obtaining funding opportunities for water system improvements. OCWA owns certain water resources that may be utilized for future water system projects. The OCWA participates in planning efforts undertaken by the Orange County Department of Planning and others to provide analyses of County water resources for planning and decision making. Educating the public regarding the importance of safe drinking water is also a component of the OCWA’s mission: our programs are focused on water supply, water resource protection, watershed planning, and conservation.
