Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist- Middletown, NY

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process accurate, full-cycle bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Manage payroll taxes, reconciliations, and audits (DOL, Workers’ Comp).
  • Handle payroll adjustments, bonuses, garnishments, and benefits-related tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with HR events and functions.
  • Prepare reports, including GL reconciliation, 401(k) contributions, and annual benefit statements.
  • Cross-train staff and support HR initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of ADP Workforce Now payroll experience. REQUIRED
    • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and benefits administration.
    • Proficient in payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
    • Certified Payroll Professional is a plus.
Skills:
  • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of wage and hour laws, accounting practices, and HR procedures.
