Join us on Sunday, October 25 for the annual Cheryl WALKorRUN 5K — a community event created in loving memory of Cheryl, a devoted nurse, nursing professor, wife, mother and friend. Following Cheryl’s passing from lung cancer in 2016, her children created the Cheryl WALKorRUN as a way to honor her life while giving back to the community she loved. Proceeds from the event support a nursing scholarship at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, where Cheryl taught nursing and helped inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. Over the years, the Cheryl WALKorRUN has grown into much more than a 5K. Nearly $100,000 has been raised through the event, with additional funds from the annual 50/50 raffle used to support meaningful local causes — including animal organizations and families in our community facing difficult circumstances. Whether you’re a serious runner, prefer to walk, or simply want to come out and support a wonderful cause, everyone is welcome!
