
COMMISSIONER WILLOW BAER VISITS GREYSTONE PROGRAMS, HIGHLIGHTING INNOVATION AND PERSON-CENTERED CARE
Poughkeepsie, NY — July 1, 2025 — Greystone Programs, Inc. proudly welcomed Commissioner Willow Baer of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for an in-depth visit on Monday, June 30. The visit highlighted Greystone’s innovative approaches to supporting individuals living with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout the Hudson Valley.
During her visit, Commissioner Baer toured Greystone’s SMART Supportive IRA apartment, a cutting-edge living environment that integrates smart technology with person-centered supports to promote independence, safety, and quality of life for individuals with I/DD. She engaged in meaningful conversations with the young women residing in the apartment, discussing what they love most about their new home and exploring some of the challenges they face.
The Commissioner also participated in discussions with Greystone’s leadership, staff, and community partners about current challenges and opportunities in delivering high-quality services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“The visit provided a firsthand look at how innovation and compassion can come together to empower individuals to live more independently,” said Luke Martin, Technology Inclusion Specialist at Greystone Programs. “Organizations like Greystone are leading the way toward a more inclusive and equitable future.”
