Driving Dignity Forward: Community Fundraiser to Strengthen Healthcare Access in Middletown

Middletown, NY — April 11, 2026 — Community leaders, healthcare professionals, and local organizations will gather on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM at The Salvation Army – Middletown, located at 80 W. Main St., for “Driving Dignity Forward,” a fundraising and professional networking event focused on improving access to healthcare through reliable transportation solutions.

Hosted by The Salvation Army – Middletown, the event will support the launch and operational readiness of SwiftAid Transport, a developing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) provider dedicated to serving hospitals, rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, and private-pay clients throughout Orange County and surrounding areas.

Transportation barriers continue to impact healthcare outcomes across communities, contributing to missed medical appointments, delayed hospital discharges, and interruptions in critical treatments. “Driving Dignity Forward” aims to bring attention to these challenges while mobilizing community support to build practical, sustainable solutions.

“Access to healthcare begins long before a patient enters a facility — it begins with the ability to get there safely and on time,” said Jamel Holder, Founder and Owner of SwiftAid Transport. “This event is about bringing the community together to address a critical gap and build a system that supports both patients and providers.”

The event will feature a guest speaker, live music, light refreshments, and opportunities for professional networking among healthcare providers, business leaders, and community stakeholders.

Funds raised will support key operational components of SwiftAid Transport, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles, driver training, safety and compliance systems, and dispatch technology designed to ensure reliable and dignified transportation services.

Community members, healthcare professionals, and local businesses are encouraged to attend and participate in this initiative to strengthen access to care across the region.
