Nourish Your Mind Adds Three Therapists, Providing Hope, Help and Healing to Those in Need
MONROE, N.Y. (April 15, 2024) – Nourish Your Mind, which provides mental health and mind-body nutrition services in the Hudson Valley, has announced the addition of three therapists: Angelica Castaldo, MHC-LP, Nicole Tondreau, MHC-LP, and Haleigh Espada, LMSW. They are now welcoming appointments.
“We’re proud that these empathetic, trusted providers will partner with Nourish Your Mind’s clients, prioritizing meaningful quality of life and well-being through a strategic, personalized approach,” said Nourish Your Mind founder Jessica Sullivan, LSCW. “Their vital contributions will advance Nourish Your Mind’s commitment to providing a safe, judgment-free space for our clients to overcome and succeed. For our entire compassionate team, nurturing well-being is not a job. It’s a calling.”
Sullivan established Nourish Your Mind in 2015 to support those struggling with chronic physical and mental health issues. More than 28 million adults with a mental illness receive no treatment and 60% of youth with major depression do not receive mental health treatment, according to a 2023 study conducted by the Mental Health Association of America. In the United States, there are 350 individuals for each mental health provider – a ratio that can create difficulty in finding a therapist. Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit also was established by Sullivan, with the goal of making mental health services more accessible to those in need.
The new therapists:
Angelica Castaldo, MHC-LP, specializes in treatment of anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-love and mindfulness meditation. She previously worked with adults in a nonprofit Personalized Recovery Oriented Services program, and is experienced in working in group and individual therapy. She utilizes a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Humanistic Therapy to help clients improve coping skills and goal-setting. She fosters a great rapport with clients, and believes that mental health is optimized when paired with physical health. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Purchase College and master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Pace University. She also is certified in Early Childhood Development.
Nicole Tondreau, MHC-LP, has worked with adolescents and adults in an inpatient psychiatric hospital’s acute stabilization units, providing group and individual therapy to patients with difficulties including depression, personality disorders, trauma, anxiety, substance abuse, mood disorders and other life challenges. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, relying on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She teaches coping skills, how to challenge maladaptive behaviors and thinking styles, and promotes positive, long-lasting change. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Albany and master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.
Haleigh Espada, LMSW, is passionate about providing evidence-based practices and advocacy so individuals can maximize their potential. She has specialized in providing trauma-informed and strengths-based care to children, young adults and family members to navigate mental-health needs and life challenges. In addition, she has extensive experience working with a variety of populations such as the LGBTQIA+ communities, those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance-use issues and mood disorders. She has clinical experience in treating anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, hyperactivity, impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, school refusal/phobia, physical and sexual abuse as well as other trauma-based disorders. She utilizes interventions such as Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. After earning her bachelor’s of social work degree from Virginia Wesleyan University, she secured her master’s degree in social work from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service.
